The West Country's Premier 50s & 60s Rock & Pop Band
We live together in the Old Dogz retirement home, reminiscing of the 50s and 60s. Matron is very strict, but does allow her 'boyz' out to play gigs from time to time. We first got together at a swinging 60s show on Broadway* in 1997. The show was a storming success. Graham and Dave played a Cliff tribute act, Jerry (who joined the Dogz soon after) played in the orchestra pit band and Phil was in the audience! So the band was entirely born from the show. Jon joined in 2005. We are all enthusiastic musicians and we love what we do. We play at weddings, parties, dances, corporate functions, charity balls, beer festivals and open-air public events. We are based in Somerset and, with Matron's permission, we travel the length and breadth of the country to entertain. |
Newz
Matron has allowed us to use our pension money to buy some more sound equipment. For the technically minded we now have an Allen & Heath GL2400 24 channel mixer, with a multicore cable so that we can mix sound from the audience.
Our new album, Almost Live, is available. It has 12 tracks and the choice of music reflects the range that we play. The approach we took when recording it was to record ourselves much as we play on stage, to recreate the authentic live Old Dogz sound. Click here for details.

What sort of music do we play?
Old Dogz...New Trix play rock and pop music of the 50s and 60s, tempered with a few more recent songs. We are a totally live band (yes that's right, no rhythm boxes or backing tracks!). Our favourite artists include Buddy Holly, The Beatles, Cliff Richard, Elvis, Billy Fury and the Everly Brothers, to name but a few. Scroll down the list below.
